How happy are you with your life?

Think about it for a moment...100%? If not why not? Despite your circumstances , you can be 100% happy. It's achievable , because happiness comes from within. It's about inner transformation, which has to happen before it can be externally manifested.-Gustav Gous

May I ask you – What would you do if you had 10 million rand in the bank? NOT your business account, your personal account.

While you think about that for a moment, let me begin by thanking my “groupies” if it were not for your support I wouldn’t be here. Thanks a million!

When I prepared for this talk I was thinking of how we all juggle different things at different times just to get through the day. All these ‘things’ I call Apples. I see our lives as Apple trees, bringing us sometimes more Apples than we can handle, sometimes rotten Apples and other times no Apples and we have to juggle those we have until new ones arrive.

So what does the question and Apples have to do with Life Coaching?

Picture in your mind’s eye the tree of your life: Can you see it clearly? Now look carefully, there’s eight different branches, the Apples produced by each branch differs, some are green others red, some others blue and still others yellow and orange.

Apples are actually daily, weekly or monthly goals that needs to be achieved, they’re mixed with all those others that we would like to do but never get around to doing. To eat an Apple simply means Extra Attention Time, so for a short while you focus intently on getting that Apple completely sorted.

The branches represent your Life Areas:

Area 1: Health and Physical

Area 2: Family & Home

Area 3: Social & Recreational

Area 4: Spiritual & Emotional

Area 5: Intellectual & Educational

Area 6: Professional & Career

Area 7: Financial & Wealth

Area 8: Community & Cultural

Area 1: Health and Physical

You only have the one body, cherish it! Make sure you know the vital numbers for your age and gender. Exercise and maintain good healthy eating habits.

Apples: Gym, Time for exercise, Diabetes, Illness or disability.

Tip: Get enough sleep!

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and refer you to the relevant practitioner such as Personal trainer, Dietician or other sports coaches.

Area 2: Family & Home

Your home support system only accounts for 15% of your environmental stability, however if this support structure should fail your entire world will come crashing down! Look at your 15%, are you working as a team? Are you spending quality time together? Are you providing a safe and secure harbour to return to?

Apples: Homework, School work, Overtime, Projects, Birthdays, Death, Friends, Finances

Tip: Have a “What can I give” instead of a “What can I get” attitude!

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and either give you and your family exercises (Homework) to do or council, mediate or facilitate conflict resolution in the family. Services that may (or may not, coach specific) fall under a life coach are:

Marriage counselling

Family Counselling

Divorce / Relationship Remediation

Divorce Counselling

Pre-marital Counselling

Relationship guidance for Teens

Family Trauma Counselling

Life Coaching

Relationship Coaching

Area 3: Social & Recreational

How good a friend are you? What do you do to deepen your friendships? We all need “Me-time” and time with friends.

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and come up with some ideas of how to connect with the community around you.

Apples: Relationships, Parties, Social gatherings, Friends and their issues, Time management

Tip: Focus on doing good to others and the environment and expect nothing in return!

In life you cannot help someone else and not benefit yourself in one way or another!

Area 4: Spiritual & Emotional

Even Atheists believe in something: themselves. As human beings we have an inborn need to believe in something higher than ourselves, this belief is what helps us get through the tough traumatic times. It gives us hope for the future, it develops our determination and will to live. Someone who loses all hope ultimately commits suicide. Therefore if you do not practice a religion or do but not actively, consider reading the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth). You’ll discover some good life tools and that there’s a God who cherish relationship above religious doctrine.

Apples: What do I believe? Heaven or Hell or Who cares? Beliefs, doctrine, religion

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and put you in contact with the relevant spiritual advisers. I do have an excellent Spiritual growth plan for Christians that seek a deeper relationship with God.

Tip: Heal your past, forgive yourself first and then the rest, restore your honour and become whole again.

Area 5: Intellectual & Educational

You don’t know what you don’t know! Therefore continual education is an investment in yourself, what you love, you’ll continually want to do, and when you do what you love you’ll never work a day – Einstein (Paraphrased) Knowledge has absolutely no power until it’s applied.

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and will help you in finding out who you really are and what skills or abilities you have to offer the world around you. Knowing yourself intimately enable you to love unconditionally and to grow where you need to, it also assist in handling calamity when it arises.

Apples: Where do I need more information? How & where do I get it? Time, Study, growth

Tip: Go to www.16personalities.com and get to know who you are as personality (this account for 15-25% of who you are! Go to www.Shadowmatch.com (Short report, for full payable report please contact myself) to learn what your habits are and how you handle conflict. (This accounts for 55% of who you are!) So what about the rest? The environment where you find yourself will be mirrored by you, that’s why we behave differently at church than at a party or at work.

Area 6: Professional & Career

Are you doing what you really love to do? Do you like what you’re doing as career? Do you want more? If so, what are your future prospects? Do you need to educate yourself further? What will it take to get where you want to be, is it worth it?

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and will guide you towards a suitable career counsellor or recruitment agency. There’s a very specific path to follow here. Life Coaches can also assist businesses with:

Conflict Resolution

Restructuring Management

Personnel Placement

Promotion and Growth Management

Leadership Growth and development

Executive Coaching

Key Note Speaking

Motivational Speeches

Team Building

Apples: Time, Boss demands, Client requirements, Issues, colleagues, Pressure, growth, promotion, quality, quantity, records, Admin, Finances, travelling

Tip: Find your God-given destiny and purpose and pursue it with a passion!

Area 7: Financial & Wealth

Most people work for their money and never have enough. Learn how to get your money to work for you and be debt free. Would a second income help you?

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and guide you towards the right answers for your specific needs. (This is a highly specialised field so a good LC will connect you with the relevant people should you not have your own.

Apples: Budget, Money, Emergencies, School fees, Fines, Loans, Accounts, Investments, Groceries, Car Service, Utilities

Tip: Have a budget, stick with it, live within your means.

Area 8: Community & Cultural

What difference do you make in your community? How and where do you donate your money / time, effort and skill?

How does a Life Coach fit here? A good Life Coach will determine your unique needs and make suggestions based on your skills and abilities as well as time frames in mind.

Apples: Time, Who to help, How can I help, So much needed, but I can only give a little, Who to work with, how to fit in. What can I help with? Finances, Skills, Opportunities

Tip: Find somewhere that you can really have an impact, maybe help a single Mom service her car, bake a cake for a family who lost a loved one. Have a party to raise money for a need in your community… Go to www.lovingthyneighbour.org to register a NGO or to find organisations that needs your help. (Or contact me for assistance)

You’ll realise from the above that a Life Coach doesn’t always have the answers, we assist you in asking the right questions and then plan for the future.

Coming back to that first question: if you had it now would you have the time to enjoy it?

Do your budget and cherish your work place and salary, earning R52 000 pm is like having a R1 000 000-00 in the bank!

Love really means Forever

Love really means Forever

Let me explain: there’s a whole lot going on inside of us that we’re not even aware of. Firstly, we need to understand how we choose a life partner. Yes, you read right, WE choose not God not fate not our parents (although it has been proven that arranged marriages actually lasts longer) we do, God will expect you to honor your initial commitment so be careful when choosing in the first place.

Think about this: when a tool we use or product of any sort gets broken while under warranty we have to send it back to the manufacturer to get repaired or in some circumstances replaced. So why when we’re married do we try and fix it ourselves? Why not refer to the manufacturer to get it repaired?

This next piece may be R rated but we need to understand this: love does not equal sex. Sex is Gods idea. It’s used centrally throughout His word (John 8:32 etc.) to show and express His love and relationship with us.

We need to go to the word of God to understand what we need to do with all that we have, do and is. From the beginning God created us by forming us and blowing His life into us after He made the decision by speaking a Word, therefore we need to go back to His manual (His Word) for guidance.

Gen 2:7 Man was physically formed from dust not just created like the animals. He formed us lovingly & then stooped down to blow air into our nostrils. In Gen 2:18 it says that God saw (not feel or think) that it was not good for man to be alone, He decided to make man a helper. You see the animals had partners and some animals pair for life, Adam had God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the animals as company but needed someone physical to meet his needs as human. Someone special who would complement and fascinate him.

Gen 2:21 God gave Adam some narcosis and he went to sleep, then God took 1 rib from Adam in order to create his helper (Eve). So why a rib? Why not a foot bone? So that Adam cannot have the idea that he could use Eve as a doormat, something to step on.

Why not a piece of Adams skull or jaw? So that Eve don’t get the idea that she could sit on Adams head. Why did God create Adam & Eve (please note, not Adam & Steve)? Because of His first task He gave us: for recreation, procreation and to fill the earth. Gen 2:25 They realized that they were naked, up to this point they were actually covered by the shekinah glory of God therefore they didn’t feel ashamed. When the Bible refers to naked there’s 2 words used in the Jewish language Arom = the Shekinah glory of God and Erom = Spiritual, relational brokenness or fear.

Genesis 1:28King James Version (KJV) 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Think about this: When a husband and wife has sex the first time and she’s a virgin (like she should be) then the hymen tears and blood is shed. This represents a covenant with God and is found throughout the Bible where God makes covenants with people blood is shed. The very first of these involved sex and human beings! “be fruitful and multiply”. This is the most sacred of all covenants as God intended us to live holy together in union forever.

God wants us to be a family so that we can be fulfilled in longing, commitment and unity. Matt 19.6, 1 Cor 6:15 and Eph 5:31-32 illustrates this.

It clearly shows the following steps:

  1. Leave – this means it’s not for children to do, ties with our parents must be cut so that we can join with our partners. In other words, we need to re-prioritize our lives.
  2. We need to Cleave – make a commitment, to be attached to someone else that you’ll nurture & cherish in an exclusive long term bond. The sexual act during the honeymoon seals the deal, becoming one flesh.

Today the above order is reversed and not as God intended, only a small group of people buys into this belief Matt 19: 4 – 6.

Esoteric cults believe that the best gender would be a harmonious blend of male and female. People no-longer believe that God joins man and woman together in marriage but some marriage officer. 1 Cor 6: 15 states that during intercourse man and woman is joined together forever by the law of sexual union. Most people don’t believe in this law and they are like the person who says there’s no law of gravity: he proceeds to prove his point by jumping off a building trying to show that the law of gravity has no effect on you.

When scripture says “it is written” it means it’s an undisputed law of God and factual.

So how do we choose a life partner?

By smell first, the way they smell resonates with our senses, much the same as a certain smell will conjure up memories of a certain place or food that we tasted or even a place where we’ve been before.

Then second Sight, when we like what we see we tend to get visually stimulated.

Touch – yes that slight touch of her hand, the look in her eyes when she does and the way she smells will create the memory…

Hearing her voice – that sweet sound when she says your name the first time.

Taste – hmmm kissing, licking or food/beverages we enjoy together, God uses all our senses to activate the glue of His love for us.

So how does He do it?

You’ll have to wait till next time…

Man I was away for a while wasn’t I? Well like most people life also happens to us coaches and that’s why we are able to actually help you, we learn from any and every situation so that we can apply those lessons learnt and help others get through it easier.
I went through a relationship that blew up in my face, changed day job and grew spiritually all in the last few months…
I learnt that it is okay to be depressed, however you must never camp there, get the physical help you need (go see your GP and take the meds, it helps!) and then pray for guidance so that you can learn from the experience. You see when we go through, please note: THROUGH, stuff we get stronger, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Look at it as a gym, you’re training to be better equipped to help others.
This is where I feel that Christians or anyone who believes in a higher power has a bit of an advantage over someone who doesn’t. We have something to cling to when we feel like we’re drowning, they don’t, that’s why so many end up in suicide or just completely lost.
Okay I know that you’re burning to know how a relationship coach can have a relationship blow up? Simply because we don’t know everything and we learn by making mistakes along the way and getting through it. I made the biggest mistake of all: I went back to a previous girlfriend (great girl, fantastic personality etc.) for more of what didn’t work in the first place. I just had to find out why it didn’t work, what was wrong and being a man, how can I fix it.
Well I learnt that you cannot fix everything especially when you’re dealing with people. Some people are just plain bad for you and you need to have the commonsense to get away when you realise that. In what sense bad? Bad is maybe the wrong wording but it describe the mismatch easier. If the person in your life is obsessed with someone else, even on a friendship basis, move on. This applies to guys who spend more time watching rugby than taking care of their girls’ emotional needs. A relationship has to be based on mutual respect, understanding and care for each other. I realised that when a man is not respected his whole self worth falls apart and then life happening has a much deeper harder impact.
As men we are only able to love a woman when we are respected, no wonder the Bible states: “Woman respect your man” and “Man love thy woman” the two cannot be separated.
The trick comes in that we as men must act in such a way that we can be respected, women need to act in a way that men feel respected and in turn they’ll be loved. Unfortunately we all have neat little templates built into our consciousness of what our ideal man or woman would look like, smell like, and even feel like. This template creates havoc when we don’t get that exact match, we tend to criticize everything they do say or wear.
This constant criticism chafes until there’s a rift formed and then one or both parties blow up and go their separate way. So how do we get past this? Many couples has learnt to look at the things that is more important that actually made them fall in love in the first place, they get to know each other intimately (this means mentally not physically) this takes a few years, so be patient and listen to how your friends perceive your new found love… Yes love is blind!
In the next blog I’ll discuss how love can be blind and how to handle the first infatuation stadiums in such a way that you’ll have a better foundation to build on or be able to walk away when it’s went all wrong. Look out for my next course starting the 4th October and presented at Capitol Cinemas at the Pretoria China Mall on Zambezi Drive, plenty safe parking, and we have a whole cinema to fill so please come and join us! Go to my website: www.jacquesbooysen.co.za or sms LIFE to 37997 or send a message via Facebook or Twitter: @jacquesbooysen4

Relationships form when we interact with other people, relationships consists of different influence spheres around us and we need to be aware of how and when they form. Sometimes a brief relationship will form around a braai, this is called a casual friend relationship and is usually the result of choices that we make based on what we like about the person externally and is a result of immediate circumstances.

Close friendships however develop over a longer period and is the result of choices we make based on how well we know the person we’re involved with. That being said it follows logically that a wiser choice would result in a better friend.

Prov 27:19 As in water face answers to and reflects face, so the heart of man to man. (Amplified)

Prov 12: 26 The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray. (Amplified)

What does these 2 verses mean? Well basically that Lazy, angry, immoral, bitter, greedy and unbelieving people will challenge us mentally. We need to choose our friends very wisely. Prov 13:20 He who walks [as a companion] with wise men is wise, but he who associates with [self-confident] fools is [ a fool himself and ] shall smart for it. [Isa 32:6]

The opposite of this is true of morally intact and believing people. Yes they will also sometimes challenge me mentally but they’ll also support me emotionally and strengthen me spiritually. Heb 10:24 And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, (Amplified)

Who you are will ultimately determine the persons that you attract. So how do we attract the right people? Start by being interested in other people. Fil 2:4 Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.

Don’t be a chronic complainer (Phil 2:14-15) but be a good listener (Jam 1:19), ask questions it’s like food to the body. Accept people unconditionally (Rom 15:7). A true friend loves at all times even when we disagree with another’s view point.

You see when we do that we help people feel significant (Rom12:10) and that means that we then honor others above ourselves (Phil 2:30). We must also be sympathetic (Rom 12 :15) and stick with people in tough times Prov 18:24 & Eccl 4:9-10) so that by doing this we actually share Christ with them.(Luc 8:39 & Luc

In my life I’ve learnt a few very important lessons. Those lessons I found to be applicable to everything I do in life. The first of these is ATTITUDE, this is the determining factor when it comes to success.

The difference between the world’s best athletic times is mere fractions of a second, that is not ability but attitude that made the difference! “Attitude determines altitude” is a phrase that we hear all too often but don’t realise how profound it is in changing our lives.

John C Maxwell tells the story of 2 major league baseball players and the differences between them: The one get just 10% more hits and homeruns more than the other but earns 10 times more! Why? Simply because he has an attitude of winning.

The next key is BELIEFS. “What you believe you will achieve” is a constant in the Bible but also true in life. When I was a car guard sleeping in the veld I realised one thing: I’m more than this! I believed that I can and should do better. I believed that I can get a job and 3 days later I got one: I started delivering biltong for a distributer. Three months after that I got a job as a site manager at a construction company and 2 years after that I started my own business. You have to believe to achieve!

The third key is CHANGE a constant companion. Whether you like it or not change will be part of your life for the rest of your life from the day you’re born, embrace it and growing will be easier, kick against it and growing will never come easy. You see the intolerance of today creates the future, whatever you’re gatvol of, sick and tired of, hate the most of your life is precisely the motivation behind changing your life!

If we learn to embrace change it will be easier to embrace the future. We need to think differently about our circumstances. When we struggle we tend to feel sorry for ourselves, ag shame man! When we go to the gym we feel pumped up and ready to experience the pain to get that extra kilo off or gain those six pack abs, yet in life when we take strain to grow we complain? How on earth do you expect to grow as a person without any effort?

DETERMINATION or perseverance is our fourth key. How determined are you to get what you want in life? If Edison gave up after try number 111 we would still be using candles, but he didn’t, he continued on for 889 times more! What’s your excuse for giving up so quickly?

Now this will sound weird but constant self EDUCATION is the fifth key. How much effort do you put into learning new things? To get the most out of life we need to put in a bit of more effort in getting better educated in our field of work, a bit more guts and tears to get to the top. We tend to settle for mediocre; we tend to think that others should accept it because we made an effort.

How about getting a suitable car, getting suitable food at a restaurant or a suitable girlfriend or boyfriend? Is that good enough? We expect better yet we rarely give our best! Just a bit more education will take you from ordinary to extraordinary.

Having FORTITUDE or FAITH is key six and what a key! Fortitude means that you can withstand criticism and attacks while on your journey to success. Your faith in what you’re doing and who you are will determine your ultimate success. It’s the difference between success and failure, having a goal that no-one sees but yourself, keeping on keeping on until you get there. Hebrews 11: 1 “Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen”. You need to have faith so that you can achieve.

The seventh key is GOALS. How would you expect to get anywhere in life without them? You decide daily you need to get to work and when starting your car that address is your goal for the first hour or two! Then some people has the next goal as teatime, winners has the next goal of getting more done in an hour than others do. In the evening your goal is getting home and again that address becomes your focus. Yet you don’t want to set goals at work or at home or for anything else in life? What’s wrong with you?

The eighth key is HELP. Yes you read right, HELP. “When you see a turtle on a fence post you know it had help ” – John C Maxwell. I’m that turtle! You see I realised through a lot of hard knocks that I cannot achieve my best without some much needed help. I’m not that well educated, not that fast and not that gifted, I need help and therefore I chose the very best to speak into my life, the best to guide me and help me achieve my goals.

You see you need to be willing to learn from others and your mistakes, you need to believe that you can, you need to have faith that your goal is achievable; you need to accept and ask for help and then your attitude determination and will bring about change that will make all the difference in life.

Why Get a Life? Because so few has it! Very few is having a life while making a living and that’s just 1 reason.
If you want to get to Capetown but you’re asking the way to Kuruman you’ll get to the wrong place. It’s not because you got the wrong answer, you had the question wrong. Let me assist you in asking the right questions for a big change.
Too many people settle for mediocrity, they’re happy in their comfort zones (more like discomfort zones!) be different, be daring and get a change that’s worth getting!
Be inspired to become not only a ‘Go Getter’ but also a ‘Go Giver’. What do I mean? In order to give something you need to have it first George Waitley said “You must live a good life for yourself in order to ‘give it away’ to others”
Why 7 questions? Bono said – “We thought we had the answers, it was the questions we had wrong” Most selfhelp books and courses try to give you the answers, Get-a-life is designed to help you get the questions right and then answer them to get to the life you deserve.
It’s about redesigning and restructuring your life and re-aligning priorities. Our 7 straightforward and hard hitting strategic questions will facilitate the process.
“There’s a question with your name on it” – Dr.Gustav Gous
These questions will point out where your happiness is compromised.
“Successful people ask better questions and as a result get better answers.” – Anthony Robbins
The strategically placed questions takes a holistic approach to life and opens new possibilities. Most self help books and courses focus on only 1 aspect of life.
So my question to you is, do you dare join me?
Would you like to consider yourself as successful or just average?
What does it cost? R20 000? R12 000? no for a limited time only you’ll only pay R2980-00!

Wow! I am so excited about what I’ll be sharing with you today as it is one of the things that I’ve learnt the hard way. I was sitting in church and the message was about hope, how we tend to lose hope for sometimes trivial reasons.

I realized then that I have to share my view of Hope with you.

Have you sometimes felt overwhelmed and hopeless?

Have you wondered how you got into this mess in the first place?

O I’ve done so, so many times until I found out what Hope actually is.

  3. Employed or used for a special service, function, or occasion. (www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/extraordinary)

Did you get that? Hope is a Healthy Objective Planned Extraordinarily! So what do I mean? Do you have faith that this year will be better? Or are you like so many others hoping, wishing but not sure if it will be? My goodness do I have something for you!

Let’s look at the definition of faith quickly :

faith

noun

1. Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

Or

Hebrews 11:1 New International Version (NIV)

Faith in Action
11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.®Used by permission. All rights reserved worldwide. (Bible Gateway)

Okay so what we see here is that hope cannot stand alone from faith. Why do I point this out? Well because if you hope without faith there’s going to be disapointments coming your way! So what do you do?

Take your hopes and dreams for 2016 and write them down.

Next decide which is realistically achievable.

Then decide which of these is most important to YOU. (If you want it bad enough you’ll get it)

Now give them a realistic timeline, each one of them, think it through very carefully.

Now write down an action plan for each of these goals or objectives.

Now many would stop here, oh no it’s not that simple! Find someone you trust to hold you accountable for your action steps.

This is where I’ll gladly step in and assist you with that. Make sure that if your timeline is weekly check in daily, if it’s monthly check in weekly so that you make sure you do what must be done on time and in sequince.

Let’s re-cap quickly:

H = Healthy

O = Objectives (goals)

P = Planned

E = Extraordinarily

Go ahead enjoy every minute of this year, plan it and go get it!

My goodness what a year this was! I know I know you haven’t had any blog from me in a long while, so much has happened since we last spoke! Well I had the priveledge of attending a few workshops so that I can better serve you, I also still has a full-time job of creating some new and exciting content for you just for 2016 and then I also helped my son transform his teenage life!

Phew what a mouth full!

Well I went to church tonight and Johan Serfontein from AGS (AFM) Waterkloof had a compelling message that made me think about you. The overall gist of the message was Hope and what we need to justify having that hope for the future. You see if we have hope for the future but we place it in people, places or circumstances we’re doomed for failure. Okay the non-christians reading here relax the muscles and bear with me for the next few minutes and you’ll realise that this is also relevant to you.

In the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) there is 4 books in the New Testament (the very first 4) that is called the Evangelicals (Good news). In all 4 of them the same story (parable) of the 5 Barley loaves and 2 small fish is told (refer John 6:1-15). A multitude of people were following Jesus, why you ask? Well Jesus was popular because where-ever He went He healed the sick, made the blind see and called people back from the dead. Miracles were part of His dayly routine. Think about it for a minute, miracles has 3 things that’s always present that makes them miracles:

1. There’s always some sort of crisis or need that needs to be addressed. Sometimes there’s no prayer or even faith present and still a miracle happens! This mean that we too are eligible for miracles in our lives!

2. A lunch basket is packed on the ready.

Whoa! You say “lunch basket?” what does that have to do with anything? Well the lunchbasket represent our talents (abilities or willingness to do something) this could be the ability to sing, sell, teach or play tennis, any ability that you have that could fill a need somewhere.

3. The willingness to give away or share those abilities.

The moment when you share yourself or what you have, that’s when a miracle happens!

Johan gave us a great formula which I just have to share:

Momentum = (FI t)to the power of G

Momentum = (Focused Intensity time) to the power of God (or whatever you want to call it)

The moment you focus your ability with intesion and intensity adding time, things starts happening! It’s not always what you bring, but actually that you bring something that makes it happen.

This brings me to my main message. Was 2015 all you hoped for? Did you achieve your goals or did you miss some? Did you work a plan or did someone-elses plan work you? Do you have the ability to plan and strategise for 2016 or are you hoping for the best and maybe this time it will be better?

May I ask you to book a free session with me so that I can help you reach your goals for 2016 within a set timeframe using your abilities and talents in order to have a well rounded balanced life?

There is 7 questions that should be asked and answered:

Am I effective/ efficient in what I do? Time Management

Am I efectively going in the right direction? Direction management

Is ALL of me effectively going in the right direction? Balance Management

Should I effectively be going in this direction? Purpose Management

Will I be able to continue after a big crisis or calamity? Calamity Management

Am I fit to travel? What state am I in? Recovery Management

Can I transcend (live beyond) myself? Legacy Management

This is the logical questions to ask but they are not in the correct order as we need the chronological order to unpack them and gain valuable insight into our lives.

Lack of focus

Welcome to my very first blog! I hope that we could both learn a few new things as we go along on this journey of life. Over the past few weeks I have been pondering on the lack of courtesy in our society. Every morning in traffic on my way to the office I see road rage and very little tolerance.

Looking at the different people traveling I realized a very interesting phenomenon: Lack of Focus!

I started watching the people in the office and every single client I visited and this is everywhere. We seem expect that everybody is on the same page as we are and when they’re not we get upset, like one motorist this morning, chattering away on his cellphone ignoring the green light only to cross when it just turned red.

Two robots later he’s still going strong keeping everybody back as the robot turns green then amber and red again, ignoring or not even hearing the constant hooting of a plethora of angry motorists. You will find them everywhere be it on a cellphone in the car, supermarket, doing make up in the car, reading reports between robots or answering the cellphone while in a meeting.

So what does have to do with focus? Everything! In life you have a choice to determine your own focus or have someone-else do it for you. By doing one thing at a time and doing it well your life will start taking on direction. According to Dr. Caroline Leaf we cannot multi task even when we think we are multitasking! http://drleaf.com/blog/multitasking-is-a-myth.

So that being said how do I improve my focus? This is not so easy but with exercise in self discipline this is possible for all of us.

Exercise 1 : Try for 1 week not to answer the phone while driving or when in a meeting. If you find it impossible put it in the boot or leave it with reception.

Exercise 2 : When someone talks to you, drop what you do and actually LISTEN.

Exercise 3 : When driving just try to focus on getting from A to B without doing anything else but drive.

Keep it up for a week successfully and then graduate to more things that you know impairs your focus. It’s important that you must keep at it for at least 6 weeks as we establish a habit in just a few days but will take anything from 21 to 42 days to get rid of (replacing) a habit. It’s also important to understand that we need to replace a bad habit with a better good habit. Thus if you like to snack while driving try to rather exercise your arms or stomach muscles while driving. If you’re trying to quit smoking it’s more difficult but replace the sucking with a peppermint or focusing on something else.

Remember your thoughts ( what you constantly think about) will result in actions which becomes habits, which in turn create your character and that my friend determines your destiny!
